PMI Lakeshore Chapter Partnerships Policy

POLICY STATEMENT

The Project Management Institute (PMI) Lakeshore Chapter is committed to supporting the development of healthy relationships with like-minded organizations. The PMI Lakeshore Chapter's policies and programs will reflect these principles. The Partnerships Policy establishes the general terms and conditions by which partnerships with organizations will be established.

PURPOSE

Under the Policy on Program Partnerships, Partnership Agreements may be developed between organizations and the PMI Lakeshore Chapter to support

A) Business development,
B) Organizational development.

Purpose of Business Development Partnerships

1. To stimulate and support project management with partners who deliver complementary programs and services. 
2. To broaden participation in the design and delivery of business development programs. 
3. To improve access to and communications about, project management. 
4. To improve and increase training available to project managers.

Purpose of Organizational Development Partnerships

1. To provide an effective instrument for the delivery of training and career development programs by the organizations that will benefit from these programs.
2. To stimulate and support sectoral development through the delivery of complementary programs and services for individuals working in that sector. 
3. To improve communications and information about the development of project management in a specific economic sector.

LEVELS OF PARTNERSHIP

Partnership Selection Guidelines

Partnership policies should outline the criteria that must be satisfied in order to be considered for a corporate partnership agreement. There are some common criteria and considerations including:

  • The relationship must be beneficial for both parties.

  • The partnership must be consistent with the mandate, policies and objectives of the PMI Lakeshore Chapter.

  • The partnership must enhance the development, delivery, awareness or continuance of project management methodologies and concepts.

  • Partnerships should not result in increased net costs to the PMI Lakeshore Chapter that are outside of the terms of the agreement.

  • Partnerships should not result in or be perceived as giving any preferential treatment outside of the partnership agreement.

  • The value of the partnership must be consistent with the level of acknowledgement accorded to the partner organization.

  • The dispositions and ownership of any assets resulting from the partnership.

  • Responsibility for the maintenance, insurance and taxes of all assets associated with or resulting from the partnership.

  • The duration of the partnership.

  • A cancellation provision and the remedies available to both parties upon cancellation.

LEVEL A

1. Purpose: Business Development
2. Eligibility: All PMI Chapters
3. Review: Re-authorization of this schedule will occur every year
4. Partnership Agreement (Level A): 
Any Partnership Agreement shall adhere to the purposes and principles of this policy. In addition all LEVEL A partners shall:

  • Have a valid yearly updated business plan, provided on or before the start of each fiscal year of the partnership.

  • Share ideas at Region 3 meetings and PMI conferences.

  • Equally share resources, including monies, for any shared events.

  • Provide their brand identity logo, description, and links to their web site for inclusion onto the PMI Lakeshore Chapter's web site.

  • Be recognized via slide shows during breakfast and networking seminars.

  • Share a strategic vision with the PMI Lakeshore Chapter.

  • Participate in symposiums and other similar events hosted by the PMI Lakeshore Chapter.

LEVEL B

1. Purpose: Business Development 
2. Eligibility: PEO, SME, CAMC
3. Review: Re-authorization of this schedule will occur every year 
4. Partnership Agreement (Level B): 
Any Partnership Agreement shall adhere to the purposes and principles of this policy. In addition all LEVEL B partners shall:

  • Have a valid yearly updated business plan, provided on or before the start of each fiscal year of the partnership.

  • Provide links to their web site for inclusion onto the PMI Lakeshore Chapter's web site.

  • Provide professional development opportunities at preferential pricing to PMI Lakeshore Chapter members.

  • Participate in symposiums and other similar events hosted by the PMI Lakeshore Chapter.

LEVEL C

1. Purpose: Business Development 
2. Eligibility: QAI, ASQ Toronto
3. Review: Re-authorization of this schedule will occur every year 
4. Partnership Agreement (Level C): 
Any Partnership Agreement shall adhere to the purposes and principles of this policy. In addition all LEVEL C partners shall:

  • Have a valid yearly updated business plan, provided on or before the start of each fiscal year of the partnership.

  • Provide links to their web site for inclusion onto the PMI Lakeshore Chapter's web site.

  • Provide presentations to the PMI Lakeshore Chapter members.
